Review of New Orleans Mouse Story: YouAintDeadYet.com

Wednesday, May 25th, 2011

Is it possible to rate a speaker above excellent? It is if you have heard John Baumann. He has spirit and energy, knowledge and compassion. Before taking the podium if time permits, he mingles with the group, looking at everyone, listening, chatting.  He then goes on to give a very personalized presentation.  His “You ain’t dead yet” story sums it all up.  Thank you John for making our Parkinson’s Awareness Night with the Indiana Pacers a huge success.

Parkinsons Awareness Event at NBA Pacers Game

Sunday, April 17th, 2011

It was great working with you again . When the people started coming in, I got the greatest feeling I have had in a while to see all of the people that were coming to the event that Linda and I organized and put together. I have always enjoyed giving to other people, this by far is this biggest thing I have done to give back to people. The program, from what I hear, was really great.  Your part of the presentation helped everyone put things into perspective and was very informative. I wish we would have got to talk more before or after the game, but things were a little chaotic. I really enjoyed meeting your son. He was very nice and helped out setting up the tables for the program. We have your CD’s until you tell us what you want us to do with them. I look forward to seeing you. Did PAACI talk to you about doing a symposium in the fall or do we need to keep on them? We will be there in Cincinatti to help you out as well. Anytime you need us to help with anything and we are available, we will be there.

Subject: speech

Thank you, thank you for all you did to make our PD/Pacer event a huge success.  We have gotten nothing but positive comments about your speech and the event in general.

Your son was such a big help Friday. Nice boy, takes after DAD.  If we can help you with anything in the future, just give us a call.

Parkinsons Speaker

Monday, January 10th, 2011

John,

I just finished listening to your CD. Thanks so much for sending it. As it goes, it came at a perfect time. I was interviewed by a local reporter here in Baton Rouge about my attendance at the Institute. The photographer took a lot of shots at my Yoga class. I have the pre 15 minutes of fame jitters. It’s scheduled to appear in the Wed. 1/12 edition, people section. If you want to look for it, it’s The Advocate.

Also, I’m happy to say the ball is rolling for dance classes in B.R. for PWP’s. And, I made a great connection with a researcher at Pennington Biomedical Research Center, a well-respected research facility here in B.R. I am advocating for clinical study re Yoga and Parkinson’s. I will certainly keep my eyes open for possible speaking engagements.
Thanks again for the Inspiration…
May your New Year be as Peaceable as Possible.

Amy McNeil, SARC Executive Director: “Your personal stories of growth and optimism struck a deep cord with those in attendance. If motivation was your only goal, you succeeded. However, if you were striving to inspire deep belly laughter, internal reflection, misty eyes, and a healthy dose of “open your eyes to the world that surrounds” as they say in Hollywood, you nailed it!  Your engaging presentation left all conference-goers thinking about how to embrace and savour life. Conference evaluations only confirmed how I felt: ”Wow.  Loved John Baumann as keynote speaker!!” “Such a motivated speaker. I will think of him and his life challenges when I am feeling down myself.  I know I will not feel that way much longer.” “Wonderful presenter! Touching, funny, inspirational!” “John Baumann was excellent. I didn’t want the presentation to end.  What a ‘Grand Finale’!” “Amazing!” Quality presenters are difficult to find, so I hope you don’t object to me recommending you to fellow colleagues.”

Shahin Shoostari, PhD, Fellow Conference Speaker: I am just writing to tell you your talk has changed me, …I came out of your talk a much stronger person…a much stronger caregiver….you are a great speaker John….with your positive attitude, and the great ability which you have to express your feelings, your opinions, and telling people your life story and your daughter, Katie’s story, you could CHANGE lives…. I don’t know how to express myself about the impact of your story on me John…..I was listening, I remember I cried, I laughed, I felt sad, and then happy….but at the end BEING STRONG, a much stronger person….as you were taking I was reflecting on my own life, on my own challenges….I found myself coming out of that session being a much stronger person….I am writing John, just to thank you for sharing your own story, and telling us how important it is to keep the positive attitude, but also take the time to rest and enjoy our lives and what we have. Your talk was fascinating, inspiring, relevant, practical…I was able to relate to what you were saying, even without having your challenges… I believe your talk would be good for everyone of us, for everybody regardless of the kinds of the problems and issues which we have……Being positive, being strong, enjoying life, helping others… I hope you continue telling people all about your life, and what has helped you to become who you are today………

Radio interview testimonial on the power of positive

Friday, November 5th, 2010

First off, I so enjoyed being with you at CRLI.

Thank you for sharing the interview with me.  And thank you for your joyful spirit – I am certain it will help me in the decades to come (How is that for optimism?). I will pass it along to my support group leader to share with others.

And I love yoga – give it a try.  It stretches, and strengthens, but also forces you to let go of everything but the moment.  Really helps me to de-stress.

Will be in touch when I get back.

Smiles,

Kitsi

Best Testimonial Ever for John Baumann

John

Dad and I listened to your radio interview.  It was amazing and I mean it.  You have a gift for speaking and I loved your use of descriptive words.  Like “unflappable”.  You need to have your own show or get more speaking engagements.  It will happen.  I know it.
